Trucks and buggies
The IVECO Powerstar
The IVECO Powerstar was built and owned by team De Rooy. Team de Rooy drove it in a number of rallies, often finishing in the top 3. The truck has almost 1,050 HP at the wheels and an Allison automatic transmission. Two hydraulic jacks make it child’s play to change a tyre – the job is done in 8 to 10 minutes. Team Dust Warriors drove the IVECO for the first time in the Dakar 2021.
DAF
The DAF rally truck was the first purchase by team Dust Warriors. This truck previously belonged to Mark de Leeuw, who also used it to take part in the Dakar rally himself. The Carta Rally in Morocco in 2019 is the first rally the Dust Warriors participated in. After this participation, a new 900 HP Paccar engine was installed in the vehicle with a manual transmission. This truck does not have hydraulic jacks, which means a tyre change can take 10 – 15 minutes.
Yamaha YXZ side-by-side
The Yamaha side-by-side was taken over from Joost Hofmans, who used it to participate in the Dutch SSV Driving Championships and won several stages. The Yamaha has 1050cc and an extra tank under the seat for more fuel supply. The side-by-side is also fitted with Proflex suspension and a manual transmission. The 2020 Breslau Rallye is the first rally that team Dust Warriors participated in with the Yamaha side-by-side.
DAF service truck
This DAF truck carries the spare parts for both the IVECO and the DAF rally truck and all the necessary tools. This truck also has a trailer where the spare tyres are stored and where the DAF rally truck is transported. It also carries the IBC for the shower and toilet of the Scania sleeping and dining truck. The service truck has a 600 HP Euro 3 engine and a manual transmission.
Scania sleeping and dining truck
To provide comfort, team Dust Warriors had a Scania truck and trailer converted into a sleeping and dining truck. The truck accommodates 5 sleeping quarters, each with a bunk bed, for as many as 10 team members. With a kitchen and dining table in the trailer, the team is provided with all the conveniences!
